General Zod is a DLC character in DC Superheroes: Dawn of Injustice. He is a power user and is voiced by Khary Payton. He was the tenth DLC character to be released, alongside Blue Beetle, and was available for purchase seven weeks after the game was released. He was first revealed in a gameplay trailer against Power Girl.

Background Role

For a short time Superman felt Zod would be a useful addition to the Regime, but he proved too unstable to control, and he was placed back in the Phantom Zone. But he has had all this time to plan his revenge.

Gameplay

Character Trait

General Zod blasts a ray gun that opens a portal to the Phantom Zone. When his opponent tries to cross it they get sucked in and the portal disappears. In the next second another one appears and they are thrown out.

Super Move

General Zod blasts his opponent with a gun that begins coating them in an ice-like substance, but before it can completely cover them he slams into them, shattering it and knocking them upward. He then launches himself upward and blasts them farther up with his heat vision. In the air, he grabs them by the throat and blasts heat vision into their forehead before finally throwing them back to the ground.

Intro/Outro

• Intro: General Zod is seen floating aimlessly through the Phantom Zone before finally seeing a portal. He pulls himself through it and appears in the arena.
• Outro: He walks towards his kneeling opponent, but stops. He then begins blasting the ground with an overwhelming amount of heat vision as his view approaches his opponent. Their death is shown offscreen before Zod begins hovering menacingly.

Character Ending

After defeating Darkseid Zod took over the White House and hung up Darkseid's body as a trophy. He then easily took control of all of Earth's governments, but he was not seen as a dictator, because he gave people exactly what they wanted. The entire Earth was united in world peace, and all they ever had to do was kneel before Zod.
